I’m pleased to announce that In Our Son’s Name is now in post-production. 9/11 is once again in the news, with the killing of Osama bin Laden by US forces in Pakistan on May 2. Phyllis and Orlando are among those who lost family members in the 9/11 attack who have been interviewed by the press, sought out because of their ongoing message of peace and reconciliation. There has been much international interest in Phyllis and Orlando’s perspective on the death of bin Ladin. Requests for interviews have come from Norway, India, Latin America and the Middle East. Their interview with NDTV, a television network in India, may be viewed at http://www.ndtv.com/video/player/news/no-closure-for-this-9-11-family/198642. Al Jazeera English (which is carried in the Middle East, North Africa, the UK, Austratlia and Canada) interviewed Phyllis at Ground Zero. That interview may be downloaded at: http://www.sendspace.com/file/rttg3e. In the US Phyllis is quoted on NBC News, at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42922600. Phyllis and Orlando’s views concerning bin Laden’s death are also reflected in the statement released by Peaceful Tomorrows, a group formed in 2002 by 9/11 family members, including Phyllis and Orlando. The statement reads in part: You may read the entire press release at: www.peacefultomorrows.org. In recognition of his peace and reconciliation efforts, Orlando has just been named Director of Peace and Justice Studies at Fordham University, where he is Professor of Sociology.
